Design Solution

AUKE faced the exciting challenge of creating a stackable metal basket that adhered not only to safety regulations but also to the operational integrity required by the client. The design proposal was as follows:

  1. Material and Finish:

    The baskets were to be made from carbon steel, which provided the necessary strength and fire resistance. To enhance durability and prevent corrosion, a blue zinc plating was applied, giving the carbon steel baskets an aesthetically pleasing finish while ensuring they withstand the operational environment.

  2. Dimensions and Structural Integrity:

    Following the specified dimensions, the designs incorporated reinforcing ribs to enhance structural integrity, thereby supporting the required 50 kg load capacity.

  3. Cooling Aesthetics:

    The use of a cool-toned color was intentionally chosen to provide a visually calming effect, which could be beneficial in the high-temperature warehouse environment. The blue finish not only stood out visually but also contributed to a perception of coolness amidst the heat.

  4. Divider Options:

    AUKE provided the client with two options for internal dividers: one made of carbon steel and the other of polypropylene (PP).     The design included wider rim edges, allowing personnel to easily lift the baskets without handles, thus maintaining a streamlined appearance while ensuring practicality.

Sample Production and Testing 

Upon receiving the initial design drafts, the client expressed satisfaction with the proposed solutions. Minimal revisions were necessary; the design essentially met all expectations from the outset.
